Set on a tranquil island known for its quiet villages, heritage architecture, and pristine beaches, the Resort redefines leisure and luxury in one of Taiwan’s most popular weekend destinations
The developer challenged BWA to deliver an iconic integrated resort that evokes a visceral “wow” effect: a place that exceeds expectations and stirs emotion through design. Spanning over 20 hectares, and easily accessible by air from Taipei and other major Taiwanese cities—and just a short ferry ride from Xiamen—the resort is positioned to attract both domestic and international visitors.
The result is a sculptural complex anchored by two curving hotel towers, inspired by the elegant form of the lotus flower. A casino and a series of restaurants flow organically through the site, as if shaped by the island’s signature coastal winds. The architecture invites exploration, with spaces that transition seamlessly between indoor and outdoor, quiet and lively, traditional and contemporary.
