BWA blends cultural heritage with rustic elegance, offering guests a uniquely immersive experience rooted in the land and traditions of the Barona Band of Mission Indians
Barona Resort & Casino is a testament to how thoughtful design can elevate guest experience while celebrating cultural identity and the natural beauty of Southern California.
BWA partnered with the Barona Band of Mission Indians to develop a destination that honors tribal heritage while delivering upscale hospitality. Inspired by the Tribe’s vision, the architecture evokes the charm of traditional farm and ranch structures. The project links a guestroom and suite tower to the casino, creating a seamless guest experience across gaming, lodging, and resort amenities.
The casino is designed as a grand barn, while the hotel resembles a bunkhouse—complemented by a windmill, silo, and other agrarian elements that reinforce the theme. A tranquil pond and a working water wheel anchor the porte cochere, offering guests a memorable arrival moment that reflects the property’s connection to nature and community.
Designed to support future growth, a new entry portal along with a food hall was added to further enhance food offerings. The facility also includes a 20,000-square-foot convention center; a 15,000-square-foot luxury spa; and retail spaces. [LB1]
