BWA designs a more energy-efficient, secure, and visually striking venue that reflects the Fort Sill Apache Tribe’s commitment to cultural pride, guest comfort, and sustainable growth
The Fort Sill Apache Tribe tasked BWA to design a major new event center and remodel of portions of their casino. At the heart of the project was a new 1,200-seat event center, including four large VIP suites on the upper level. The flexible event center is divisible into smaller rooms for conferences or special events. BWA’s interior design incorporated colors and themes inspired by the Oklahoma countryside and juxtaposed these with a streamlined, contemporary design for the event center’s exterior, resulting in an addition to the property which complements both the existing casino and the environment.
To support long-term growth, BWA developed a master plan that also included a new restaurant;
expanded gaming and back-of-house area; a player’s club; remodeled guest amenities; and a permanent enclosure to replace the aging tent structure that had housed the casino. The enclosure was engineered to preserve the legal gaming footprint while modernizing the facility. BWA designed a stepped architectural profile to accommodate the tent’s second level, integrating programmable LED lighting for seasonal and event-based effects. Construction was carefully phased to ensure minimal disruption, with most casino operations continuing uninterrupted.
Paying respect to the tribe’s long history of basket making, BWA designed a new 24/7 café with design elements including natural wood tones in a basket weave pattern and basket-style light fixtures. The streamlined exterior complements the existing casino while introducing a fresh, contemporary identity.
