Renovation expands the gaming floor, adds new bars and restaurants, and redefines the guest experience
Morongo Casino Resort & Spa’s renovation reimagines the heart of the property with bold design, expanded amenities, and immersive hospitality experiences in Cabazon, California. The design blends modern sophistication with playful energy, aligning with Morongo’s vision to create a destination that attracts both new and returning guests. BWA, in collaboration with Kenneth Ussenko Design, served as Architect and Interior Designer of Record for the project.
The project included a 65,000-square-foot expansion of the casino floor—an increase of 30%—along with the addition of new dining venues, each offering a unique atmosphere and culinary identity: Crystal Hearts Bar, a high-style lounge positioned at the epicenter of the first-level gaming floor, with ornate custom lighting and large flat-screen TVs, creating a dynamic social hub for guests; MOZEN Asian Kitchen: a richly detailed indoor/outdoor dining space inspired by the Far East, featuring a street-side canopied bar, cocoon glass lanterns, and a blue-and-gold palette layered with wood paneling and floral ceiling treatments; Pink Coffee: a playful, Parisian-inspired café with bright finishes and whimsical charm; Good Times Café: a 24-hour bistro with ivory and taupe leather seating, communal high-top tables, and private alcoves for relaxed dining; and Splash Bar: a vibrant venue with color-changing LED lighting and built-in video poker games, designed for high-energy entertainment.
Throughout the casino, BWA introduced new lighting, carpet, art, and wall and ceiling treatments, elevating the overall aesthetic while improving guest flow and comfort. This renovation builds on BWA’s longstanding relationship with the Morongo Band of Mission Indians, following earlier work that included the original casino expansion, bingo and high-limit gaming areas, and multiple food and beverage venues completed in 2012–2013.
