BWA revitalizes the high-end luxury retail center with a French-themed design reminiscent of its historic roots
Located in the heart of Hoan Kiem District, Trang Tien Plaza is a high-end retail, dining, entertainment, and cultural destination located in the heart of Hanoi, Vietnam. The landmark 1901 building represented the transformation of Hanoi from a traditional market into an innovative selling region.
BWA was tasked with creating a revitalized mall environment with a French themed architectural design harkening back to the building’s historic grandeur – a design unanimously approved by the 30 person Hanoi Architectural Committee. Preserving the existing building façade and roof structure, BWA’s exterior design included enhanced fenestration, clean-up of previously-added architectural elements, a traditional two-tone color scheme, and colorful canopies and banners that create a bright, cheerful, and inviting environment. The interior of the building was designed to create a traditional yet sophisticated environment to house Asia’s favorite luxury brands. BWA’s design team also worked diligently to solve numerous problems associated with upgrading systems.
